“APPGs are one of the ways I work across party lines to champion causes that matter both here in South East Cornwall and around the world. These informal groups bring together MPs, peers, experts, and campaigners to explore issues in depth and drive real change.”

All-Party Parliamentary Groups

What Are APPGs?

All-Party Parliamentary Groups (APPGs) are informal cross-party groups of MPs and Lords who share an interest in a particular issue. While not part of Parliament’s formal structure, they play an important role in raising awareness, influencing policy, and engaging with experts, charities, and communities.

As a committed parliamentarian, I’m proud to serve as an member on several APPGs covering sustainability, international development and public health.

My APPG Roles

Global Deforestation

Promoting awareness of the global impact of deforestation — from environmental damage to human rights. We’re working to hold the UK to account for its role and drive international action.

Sustainable Finance

Advocating for green, ethical financial systems that invest in a more sustainable and fair economy. This group focuses on long-term investment, climate responsibility, and transparency.

United Nations Global Goals

Supporting the UK’s commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals — both at home and abroad. From poverty reduction to education and gender equality, these global goals are also local goals.

Usher Syndrome

Helping raise awareness of this rare genetic condition and campaigning for better support, research funding, and ultimately, a cure for those affected and their families.

Nordic Countries

Strengthening ties between the UK and Nordic countries — through cooperation on trade, diplomacy, climate action, and shared values.
